And dolls, the details were something else!
Janelle’s elaborate transformation included fish-like features and teeth that even affected the way she spoke during her interview!

And just when you thought the Halloween fun couldn’t get any better, Gabourey Sidibe arrived with a costume that had everyone laughing!
The actress made a memorable entrance dressed as Drake, recreating a look inspired by the rapper’s recent 40th birthday celebration.
Now that’s hilarious!
Gabourey has such a wonderful sense of humor, and I love that she isn’t afraid to have fun with her Halloween looks.
But her creativity doesn’t stop with her own costumes!
The proud mom of twins also shared her love for creating homemade Halloween costumes for her little ones.
And honestly, that’s where things got even more entertaining!
Gabourey and Jennifer teamed up for a little DIY costume fun, putting together an adorable blackberry-inspired look and brainstorming a hilarious homemade tornado costume.
I mean, who thinks of these things?
The creativity was flowing, and it was such a fun reminder that you don’t need an expensive costume to make Halloween memorable.

Dolls, I absolutely loved the creativity behind this Halloween episode!
You already know I have a soft spot for anything whimsical, enchanting, and a little over the top, so Jennifer Hudson transforming her studio into a magical forest was right up my alley!
And that butterfly costume? So pretty!
I especially loved hearing Janelle Monáe talk about transformation and why she puts so much thought into her Halloween creations.
Fashion and costumes are such fun ways to express ourselves, and I think Halloween gives everyone permission to be as playful, dramatic, or imaginative as they want!
I can certainly relate because I recently had the best time putting together my own Princess Tiana-inspired Halloween look for our office costume contest!
I wanted something magical and feminine but still professional enough for the workplace, so I added a sparkling tiara, pearls, gold Mary Janes, and a little frog prince to complete my enchanted ensemble!
And while I didn’t start planning two or three years in advance like Janelle, I definitely enjoyed every minute of creating my look! Lol!
I also loved Gabourey’s DIY costume ideas because they reminded me that some of the sweetest Halloween memories come from making things yourself.
As a grandmother, I especially appreciate seeing families create fun traditions and memories together.
