During a recent appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the conversation took a playful turn when the guest jokingly revealed that the man Jennifer Hudson is currently dating rapper and actor Common was actually his longtime celebrity crush. Laughing about the situation, he admitted that back in his college days at Florida A&M University, he went through a very “earthy, neo-soul” phase and had a huge admiration for Common. He even recalled buying a yarn beanie similar to the ones Common used to wear, imagining that one day they would meet and fall in love.

Looking back, he laughed at how serious the crush once felt, sharing that he even tried to recreate scenes from Common’s music videos during that time.
