Marlon Wayans’ Standup Tour Has Turned Him Into a Hotel Snob

Marlon Wayans admits that touring has turned him into what he calls a bit of a “hotel snob.” He jokes, “I live in hotels now, so I’ve become picky. I just like nice sheets! I can’t stand those itchy ones. Growing up in the projects, we didn’t even have pillows we slept on our hands. So when I go to a hotel and they hand me this tiny pillow, I’m like, ‘Did somebody deflate this?’”

Wayans also confessed that late-night cravings are another dealbreaker. “I pray there’s room service at night. I know I sound bougie, but I hate when there isn’t. I mean, I’m not asking for caviar, it’s just when you go downstairs and all they’ve got is microwavable mac and cheese or Top Ramen, it feels like I’m right back in college!”

Switching gears to his new psychological horror film Him, set in the world of football, Wayans shared what training looked like behind the scenes. “I had to go through football drills, a lot of two-a-days, a lot of walking. I meditated, did red light therapy… and yes, the dreaded cold plunge. I hate it! Mark loves it, but I think he’s sick. Cold plunges aren’t for me, I’ll do a warm plunge all day long!”
