Rihanna To Star As “Smurfette” In Upcoming ‘The Smurfs Movie’

I always loved The Smurfs and especially Smurfette, she was my favorite! Today during CinemaCon, it was announced that Singer Rihanna will be lending her voice to the upcoming film, The Smurfs Movie slated to be released next year on Valentine’s Day. It will be a live-action hybrid from Paramount Animation.

Rihanna surprised the fans during the convention and stated that she was in her third trimester of her second pregnancy at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. She will star, write and record original songs and produce the upcoming projects. She also joked about trying to get the role of “Papa Smurf” but that it didn’t work out lol! More inside…

During the event, RiRi took to the stage wearing a head-to-toe oversized denim cape dress with matching stoned washed denim jeans that wow’d the crowd! She finished her look with diamond choker, earrings and wavy updo with slouchy denim boots as well. She is such a fashion killa! The designer of her look was by Y/Project from their Fall 2023 collection. I cant wait to see this movie!

The Smurfs is based on comic books by the Belgian artist Peyo, the tribe of little blue creatures previously enjoyed a modern film franchise at Sony Pictures, which kicked off over a decade ago. Director Raja Gosnell (“Scooby-Doo”) made two live-action hybrid films starring Neil Patrick Harris and voices including Julia Roberts, Katy Perry, Hank Azaria, and Joe Manganiello.
