Congratulations are in order for R&B Singer Brandy! I was just with her about a month ago here in Atlanta and now I get news that she will be returning to her role as Cinderella! She played the role nearly 25 years ago with her costar Paolo Montalban.
If I am not mistaken, the new Disney film Descendants The Rise of Red was filmed right here in Atlanta! I talked to one of the cast members Dara Renee last week while covering Disney Dreamers Academy and she told me that she was here in town filming Descendants! Just a little tea for you lol! Also, now it makes sense as to why Brandy was here in Atlanta too last month when I attended her new Brandy launch with Stella Rose.
The singer/actress, 43, will reprise her role as Cinderella in an upcoming Descendants movie on Disney+ . Descendants: The Rise of Red is an upcoming musical fantasy film directed by Jennifer Phang from a screenplay by Dan Frey and Russell Sommer. Produced by Disney+, the film will be the fourth in the Descendants franchise, being a spin-off of the previous three films.
Disney’s 1997 TV movie starred Brandy as Cinderella, plus Bernadette Peters as her stepmother and Whitney Houston as the Fairy Godmother in a cast that also featured Whoopi Goldberg, Victor Garber, Jason Alexander and Paolo Montalban. It originally aired on ABC to 60 million viewers.
This Disney Original Movie will premiere July 12 on Disney+, with an encore on Friday, August 9th on Disney Channel. See more inside…
