What girl doesn’t love sparkle right? For the Annual Mayor’s Ball that I have been attending for well over 6 years now, I wanted to really glam it up for the star studded affair! This is one time of the year where Atlantans really like to get dressed up and where you can spot some amazing fashions Hey it’s the end of the year, why not go out with a bang! I called up one of my favorite vendors New York Dress who has tons of gowns for any occasion. They didn’t let me down with this BG Haute asymmetrical sparkle evening gown.
I will say one thing about shopping online(which I hate). I always go by the measurement that they provide on the site that helps me determine what size to get. By this dress being a beaded gown, we all know that they can run very small. In this case, I ordered a size 14 because of the measurements they had listed. When the dress arrived, it was a bit snug but because its an asymmetrical dress and had one sleeve, if I would have went up one size, then the top portion would have been too big for me and as a result, I would have been pulling the top up all night.
I am more of a size 12 at the top part of my body, and a size 14 at the bottom. This dress was a loaner from the company and I can’t have any alterations done to the garments. So when the dress arrived, I was a bit stressed trying to figure out if I wanted to wear it or not because I did not have another option to wear at the last minute. I wore it but for those out there that want to buy a formal dress online, I would suggest you go up a size and then take the garment to get perfect alterations that fit your body. Trust me, I know my body and what works for me but I still enjoyed wearing this gown. xoxo
