On today’s episode of SHERRI, talk show host Sherri Shepherd shared her excitement after learning she received multiple NAACP Image Award nominations. The daytime star is up for Outstanding Talk Series and Outstanding Host in a Talk/News Information category, while also earning a nod for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Television Series, Special, or Movie for her role in Straw. The film itself also received a nomination for Outstanding Limited Television project.
With the NAACP Image Awards set to take place on February 28, Sherri joked that the countdown is officially on and so is her glow-up plan. That gives her six weeks, she said, to “get snatched,” because as she hilariously reminded the audience, there’s no Photoshop on the red carpet. Admitting she doesn’t have time for slow and steady weight loss, Sherri joked that she’s already Googled a few things the Surgeon General would probably not recommend.
Determined to make the most of the time she has, Sherri revealed she’s doubling down on fitness wherever she can. That includes squats while brushing her teeth, Pilates sessions, and a renewed commitment to eating healthier. Multitasking, after all, is her secret weapon.
In true awards-season fashion, Sherri also said she needs to prepare an acceptance speech just in case. She wants something meaningful, deep, and philosophical, while still practicing her “surprised” face should she hear her name called. And of course, no awards night is complete without a plus-one. Sherri joked that she’s officially in the market for a date, adding that she definitely doesn’t want to bring her dad again.
Whether she takes home a trophy or not, Sherri made it clear she has one goal in mind: to leave the night looking fabulous, feeling confident, and “snatched” and then head straight home to bed.
