Actress Tisha Campbell will debut in the NBC sitcom Lopez vs Lopez as Dr. Glenda Brenda in the NBC sitcom’s finale as Mayan’s trusted psychologist.
Dr. Glenda is described as having a “level-headed demeanor” that belies her out-of-the-box tactics. She is called into action after George (George Lopez) and Rosie (Selenis Leyva) dump some deeply troubling news on their daughter, Mayan, prompting the psychologist to run a family counseling session and make sense of all the dysfunction in the Lopez household.
Tisha Campbell began her career at a young age, appearing in children’s programs like “Kids Incorporated” and “Uncle Bobo’s Circus” before landing roles in Broadway shows.
Her breakout role came with the 1986 film “Little Shop of Horrors,” where she played one of the Ronettes, the trio that acts as the film’s Greek chorus.
Campbell is perhaps best known for her role as Gina Waters-Payne on the hit ’90s sitcom “Martin,” starring alongside Martin Lawrence. She later starred in “My Wife and Kids” with Damon Wayans.
In addition to her acting career, Tisha Campbell is also a singer. She released a solo album, “Tisha,” in 1993, featuring the hit single “Push.” Campbell has a background in dance and choreography, often incorporating these skills into her acting roles and personal projects.
She is an advocate for autism awareness and has worked to raise awareness and funds for autism-related causes, inspired by her experience as a mother to a child with autism. Campbell has made guest appearances on a wide range of television shows, from drama series like “Empire” to comedy shows like “Dr. Ken.” She has received several nominations and awards for her work in television, including an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series.
Tisha Campbell is also involved in entrepreneurship, with ventures in wellness and beauty products. She was married to actor Duane Martin from 1996 to 2018, with whom she has two children. Despite their divorce, they have remained on good terms.
