Wardrobe Breakdown: Katy Perry Burgundy Leather Dress On American Idol

On the Monday, April 22, 2024, episode of “American Idol,” the show continued to surprise and entertain with memorable performances, campy moments, and a few unexpected plot twists.

Katy had a fun moment when she engaged in a bit of camp humor with the other judges and the contestants. This added a lighthearted touch to the episode and kept things lively.

Several contestants stood out with their performances and personal stories. Jack Blocker, from Dallas, Texas, was one of the first to advance to the next round, singing “You Don’t Mess Around with Jim” by Jim Croce. Mia Matthews, a 19-year-old from Centre, Alabama, impressed the judges with her rendition of “Wildflowers and Wild Horses” by Lainey Wilson.

Roman Collins, a 24-year-old worship leader from Long Beach, sang “Never Would Have Made It” by Marvin Sapp, which resonated with the judges due to his personal journey of waking from a diabetic coma as a child. Kennedy Reid, a 23-year-old mortician, shared her story of dealing with negative comments on social media and sang “Love Can Build A Bridge” by the Judds as a way to overcome the negativity.

Overall, the episode was a mix of inspiring stories, solid performances, and Katy Perry’s unique brand of humor, making it a fun and engaging watch. For the show, Katy, 39, showed up wearing a burgundy sleeveless gown with a bustier leather top that laced-up from the back and a ruched bottom. The front of the gown featured a high slit and she completed her look with burgundy matching leather elbow-length gloves, how about that! I’d definitely wear this dress to an engagement party, birthday celebration or even a night out with my guy! So pretty and looked damn good on her! See more photos inside and the designer…
