Zendaya stole the spotlight at a Las Vegas wedding, leaving guests utterly stunned as she joined the couple mid-ceremony.
Payton Whitmore, 27, and Kadeem Strickland, 29, couldn’t believe their eyes when the Emmy-winning actress quietly took a seat in the back row of their nuptials.
The surprise came courtesy of movie production company A24, which set up a one-day chapel in Nevada to celebrate the upcoming release of Zendaya and Robert Pattinson’s new film, The Drama, hitting theaters on March 14. While the couple had been told Zendaya would be available for photos after the ceremony, they had no idea she would also step in as an official witness.
As she entered, excited gasps and yelps rippled through the crowd. Whitmore, from Chandler, Arizona, recalled, “We – as the bride and groom were surprised when she walked in, to say the least! All our guests cheered and let out gasps when they saw her.”
Despite the star-studded interruption, the couple managed to stay focused and complete their vows. Zendaya even made it official, being listed as a witness on the marriage certificate.
