Minka Kelly opened up about filming her new series Ransom Canyon in Albuquerque, reminisced about her time working as a surgical scrub nurse when she first moved to LA, talked about going to culinary school, and even shared how her boyfriend, Dan Reynolds from Imagine Dragons, helped her fake playing the piano for a role. When she mentioned her scrub nurse days, it totally brought me back to my own (very short-lived) time as a nurse’s aide in high school. I took Diversified Health Occupations at Shaw High in Cleveland, Ohio, and worked as a nurse’s aide in high school. I was set on becoming a pediatric nurse when I went off to college. But after a few years into it, I had a reality check—kids get really sick, and I realized it wasn’t all snuggly babies in the nursery like I had imagined, lol. It got a bit too heavy for me, so I ended up switching majors.
