Actress, entrepreneur, and television personality La La Anthony stopped by The Jennifer Hudson Show, and let me tell you, the ladies had plenty to catch up on!
From fabulous girls’ nights with former First Lady Michelle Obama and Megan Thee Stallion to navigating motherhood, dating, and embracing a new chapter in life, La La was giving us a little bit of everything!
And can we talk about how gorgeous and happy she looked? I just love seeing women stepping into new seasons of their lives with confidence, grace, and a little bit of sparkle!
During her conversation with Jennifer Hudson, La La opened up about her close friendship with Michelle Obama, shared some heartfelt advice about raising her son, Kiyan Anthony, and revealed what she’s looking for in a man these days.

La La Anthony Spills the Tea on Girls’ Night With Michelle Obama and Megan Thee Stallion!
Now, this is one dinner invitation I would have loved to receive!
La La revealed that she recently enjoyed a fabulous girls’ night with Michelle Obama and Megan Thee Stallion in Los Angeles.
The gathering happened after La La filmed an episode of Mrs. Obama’s podcast, and the ladies decided to keep the good times rolling with dinner, conversation, and plenty of laughs.
La La described the evening as a wonderful opportunity to catch up, enjoy delicious food, and spend quality time together.
But what I found especially sweet was hearing how much she values her friendship with Michelle Obama.
According to La La, their relationship developed naturally over the years as they crossed paths at various events. She would often turn to Michelle for guidance and advice about life, and their friendship continued to grow.
La La admitted that she trusts Michelle’s advice so much that she pretty much follows whatever she suggests!
And apparently, it works!
Jennifer jokingly reminded La La to include her in the next girls’ night, and I couldn’t agree more. Can you imagine the conversations around that dinner table?
I would have so many questions, and of course, I’d want to know what everyone was wearing!
La La Anthony Gets Emotional About Son Kiyan Heading to College
The conversation then turned to motherhood, and this part was especially touching.
La La’s son, Kiyan Anthony, is now in his sophomore year at Syracuse University, where he’s following in his father Carmelo Anthony’s footsteps as a college basketball player.
And goodness, how time flies!
Jennifer and La La reminisced about watching their boys grow up together, and both seemed amazed at how quickly their children have become young men.
When Jennifer asked what it was like dropping Kiyan off at college, La La didn’t sugarcoat her experience.
She admitted that becoming an empty nester has been incredibly difficult.
While she’s proud of her son and excited about the experiences he’s having, she misses the everyday moments of having him at home.
The noise, the laughter, the activity, and all those little things that parents sometimes take for granted suddenly become the things they miss the most.

La La Shares Her Best Advice for Empty Nesters
With Jennifer preparing for her own son’s college journey, she wanted to know how to handle the emotional transition.
La La’s advice was both practical and hilarious!
First, she warned Jennifer not to become the mom who constantly shows up on campus unannounced.
Let those babies breathe, ladies!
She encouraged Jennifer to spend time with friends and family, enjoy new experiences, and rediscover activities outside of motherhood.
I loved that advice because raising children is such an important part of life, but mothers deserve to have their own adventures, friendships, and happiness, too!
And even though La La admitted that she still struggles with missing Kiyan, she’s learning to embrace this new chapter one day at a time.
Raising Kiyan Anthony Is La La’s Greatest Accomplishment
La La also shared how proud she is of Kiyan as he continues his basketball journey at Syracuse.
Although his father, Carmelo Anthony, made an unforgettable mark on the university’s basketball program, La La wants her son to understand that he has the freedom to create his own legacy.
She encourages him to follow his own path instead of feeling pressured to duplicate his father’s achievements.
And her advice to him after basketball games?
Never forget to have fun!
La La explained that college basketball can become incredibly competitive and stressful, but she always reminds Kiyan to enjoy the sport he loves.
When athletes become too focused on pressure and expectations, they can lose sight of the joy that made them fall in love with the game in the first place.
Such a wonderful reminder, and honestly, that advice applies to so many areas of life!
For La La, watching her son grow into his own person remains one of her proudest accomplishments.
Is La La Anthony Ready to Date Again? Here’s What She’s Looking For!
Okay, now let’s get to the juicy part!
Jennifer wasn’t about to let La La leave without asking about her love life!
When the conversation shifted to dating, La La laughed before revealing that she’s entering a new season of openness.
She’s allowing herself to be receptive to whatever life and faith have in store for her.
And when Jennifer asked what kind of man catches her attention these days, La La had a pretty clear answer.
Confidence is a must!
She also appreciates a man who enjoys good conversation, knows how to have fun, and is willing to get out of the house and experience life.
La La made it clear that she enjoys activities, adventures, and making memories. She’s not looking for someone who wants to sit around the house all day!
Now, I can definitely relate to that!
There’s something so attractive about a person who enjoys living life, trying new restaurants, traveling, laughing, and creating beautiful experiences together.
And I love that La La isn’t rushing anything. She’s simply remaining open to love while enjoying where she is in life.

What I enjoyed most about this interview was seeing La La Anthony in such a positive and reflective space.
She’s embracing motherhood from a different perspective, nurturing meaningful friendships, remaining open to love, and continuing to grow as a woman.
And that conversation about becoming an empty nester really resonated with me.
As a mom and now a grandmother of two, I know how quickly those years fly by! One minute you’re raising your babies, and the next thing you know, they’re building lives and creating memories of their own.
It’s such a beautiful blessing, but it can also be emotional.
I especially loved La La’s reminder that women need to continue living, exploring, and finding joy for themselves.
Whether that’s planning a fabulous girls’ night, enjoying a romantic date, traveling somewhere beautiful, or simply treating yourself to a little pampering, life doesn’t stop when the kids grow up!
And speaking of girls’ nights, Michelle Obama, Megan Thee Stallion, and La La Anthony all sitting around a dinner table together? Yes, please! That sounds like one fabulous evening filled with laughter, wisdom, and girl talk!
I also admire La La for encouraging Kiyan to create his own path rather than live in anyone else’s shadow.
That’s what motherhood is all about: giving our children the confidence to become exactly who they’re meant to be.
