Tamron Hall Surprises Comedian Luenell With A One-Night Only Role In “Chicago,”

On today’s edition of “Tamron Hall,” Tamron surprised acclaimed actress and comedian Luenell with a one-night only role in Broadway’s longest running hit musical “Chicago.”. With her career starting in theater and always having the dream to be on Broadway, Luenell exclaimed during the emotional reveal, “I accept! I accept!” when cast member Michael Scirrotto invited Luenell to join their ensemble courtesy of the show’s producers Barry and Fran Weissler. The original “bad girl of comedy” also joined the Tam Fam to discuss her first Netflix comedy special, “Chappelle’s Home Team – Luenell: Town Business,” her tattoos honoring Prince and Michael Jackson and something Tamron and Luenell have in common: an assistant! See more inside and a video clip….

Luenell shows off her tattoos honoring Prince and Michael Jackson:

“I got the Prince tattoo and necklace because yes I loved his music, yes I’ve been to his concerts, yes he was an icon, yes, yes, yes,  I wanted to be his girlfriend, yes all that. I always loved Mayte [Garcia, Prince’s ex-wife], I was like ‘if I ever meet her, boy,’ the stories I want to hear so, it really was, after George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery got murdered, we, I,  felt the empathy for my people and my country was in pain and I didn’t know what to do with that pain because I’m the pain reliever. And so Prince, I felt like we were in a revolution, you know and Prince had a band called The Revolution so I said well I’m going to get a Prince tattoo and I’m going to get it on my microphone hand so that everybody that sees me, like this [gestures to hand]. And I’m glad to be able to tell the story of why I got it. It’s not just because I’m a fan but then I felt like a traitor because all growing up throughout my life, people were like ‘pick one! Michael or Prince?’ and I was like ‘well I loved Michael first.’ I did, I loved Michael first, Jackson 5, so I was like it’s not fair to just have Prince and discard Michael and since I’m the original bad girl of comedy, I got ‘Bad’ on this hand…You know they put them on covers of magazines and pit them against each other and they’re both exquisite in their own way.”

Tamron celebrates 760 episodes, making “Tamron Hall” Disney’s second longest running syndicated show ever:

“I was saying today is a big celebration so today’s show is all about milestones. We have the minute you come out the womb, there are milestones. When do you talk? When do you walk? All of these things. Today’s show is about celebrating the milestones in our lives. This show has just reached a huge milestone. As of today, the ‘Tamron Hall’ show has shot 760 episodes. That means we are currently Disney’s second-longest running syndicated show ever. Five seasons! Five seasons! In season five, we’re delivering our highest viewership in three years since 2021. I had to bring out the suit today! That’s because of you! Thank you Tam Fam, thank you!”
