I can’t wait for this omg! Oprah Winfrey (who is the producer of the upcoming musical) The Color Purple got the chance to interview three cast members of the play yesterday afternoon during CinemaCon. The event took place in Las Vegas. During the celebration of Warner Bros.’ 100th Anniversary, Taraji P. Henson, Fantasia and Danielle Brooks took to the stage to discuss their roles in the film.
The talented ladies will play Shug Avery, Sofia and Celie. Director Bazawule and Oprah talked about picking him to direct and they showed a sneak peek of movie and saying it’s not your mama’s Color Purple!
