The Wardrobe Styling On ‘Bel-Air’

Set in modern-day Los Angeles, Peacock’s “Bel-Air” imagines the beloved sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” through a new, dramatic take on Will’s complicated journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the gated mansions of Bel-Air, Calif. As these two worlds collide, Will reckons with the power of second chances while navigating the conflicts, emotions, and biases of a world far different from the only one he’s ever known.

I have gotten a chance to watch a few episodes with my busy schedule but really loved the wardrobe styling. That’s when I researched and found out who the costume designer was for the hit tv series. Her name is QueenSylvia Akuchie. She is known for her sharp eye for fashion and statement pieces.

Akuchie said for this new reboot her inspiration came from “the culture”. She wanted the viewers to be able to see themselves wearing the looks. She has a few favorite styles on the show but one stand out piece for this season is actress Coco Jones(who plays Hilary) wearing Roberto Cavalli in a pair of pantaboots in red cheetah print.

I like how the characters on the Bel-Air reboot have their own flare! When I used to watch the 90’s hit show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air I loved Hilary’s style the most! Hilary was known for her chic and classy outfits. She wore a lot of matching sets and high end accessories.

I noticed on an upcoming episode of Bel-Air that will air tonight on Peacock called, “Under Pressure”, Actress Coco Jones is rocking a familiar look that I spotted on Influencer/Reality Star Ari Fletcher a few months back on a red carpet! Both in a cute two-piece knit mini skirt set with vibrant colors! I immediately knew the designer and wanted to share with you guys!  See more photos inside
