I was looking through my photo album last night when I started to think about all the fun things I’ve done over the years and especially with working in media. I started out in 2005 as a 35-year-old intern at Fox 5 working for a tv show called, The Georgia Gang . Tv Producer Linda Torrence liked my personalty and decided to take me under her wing! Mrs.Torrence showed me the ropes about the entertainment industry and encouraged me to go back to school and learn television production. I took $75, signed up the very next day and took the course at People Tv and the rest is history! I started my talk show, Talking with Tami in the Fall of 2005 and everything started to move fast from there.
I did my tv show for two years then blogging came around in 2007. I jumped at the opportunity because it was A LOT cheaper than producing a thirty minute tv show lol! I was spending about $30,000 a month on production but I did have two sponsors, McDonalds and Papa Johns. I was a bit hesitant because I was like, who in the world would ever want to read an open diary online? Little did I know it would take off lol!
Here I am now and you guys have been right there with me! My avid readers know that I have put my blood, sweat and tears into this platform and I have made so many changes over the years. Typos, blurry pictures etc. it has been quite a journey but I am still here! This site is not meant to be a “newsy style” platform, it’s set in my own voice and tone, that’s how I wanted it. This blog has allowed me to meet and do some amazing things and I’m truly grateful for all the opportunities, experiences and challenges that I’ve faced. I have come a long way! Over the years, I did become frustrated and wanted to let this website go for whatever reason. I have been approached by many people to buy my site but I would always say no.
When I first started this blog, I was getting over 1 million hits a day, it was mind blowing! That may be hard for you guys to believe because I don’t get a lot of commenters but trust me the traffic is there! Now with EVERYONE being online with blogs, my traffic has decreased just a little but I still do VERY well. This website has been good to me and has allowed me to be in movies, exclusive red carpet appearances, celebrity interviews, tv shows, modeling contracts, just to name a few. I feel very blessed and highly favored.
But it’s Throwback Thursday and I was looking at a few celebrities that I’ve met over time and wanted to do a, “Where are they now”? These pictures are super old, I think going back as far as 10 years or more but they all are doing some great things now! I still keep up with some of them but wanted to share an update of what they’ve been up to, hope you enjoy, more inside…
Actress Pamela Anderson was one of my all-time favorites back in the day! I’ve met this beauty on several occasions, the first time here in ATL at Atlanta Peach’s magazine launch party. Then again out in Vegas when she invited me out to her magic show as a magician’s assistant for Hans Klok! She is the sweetest person ever and now Anderson will be performing in NYC on Broadway in Chicago. Love Pam to pieces!
